A macaw was transported in an enclosure that lacked “live animal” signage and did not have directional arrows or markings indicating the correct upright position of the enclosure. A lack of clear markings can inhibit correct enclosure handling and cage orientation during transportation. Correct for all future transports by ensuring that the top and one or more sides of transport enclosures for birds are marked with the words “Live Animals” in letters at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) high, with arrows or other markings to indicate the correct upright position of the primary enclosure. Correct by 30- September-2023. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. This inspection was conducted in Mt. Hope, Ohio.
