During a sale in order to show the animal to potential buyers the owner removed a Bat Eared Fox from its transport enclosure. The animal was struggling while being held and appeared to be stressed by the noisy environment. While attempting to secure the animal back in the enclosure, the fox was dropped. Failure to handle animals as carefully and expeditiously as possible can result in animal escape, injury, and unnecessary stress. The licensee must ensure that handling of animals is done as expeditiously and carefully as possible in a manner that does not cause, trauma, overheating, excessive cooling, behavioral stress, physical harm, or unnecessary discomfort.
